State Public Service Commission:

-Similar to UPSC, the same set of articles (i.e 315 to 323 in Part XIV) of the constitution also deals with the composition, appointment and removal of members, power and function and independence of State Public Service Commission.

-The Chairman and other members of the State Public Service Commission shall be appointed by the Governor.

-Half of the members of such Commission shall be in government service at least for ten years.

-The members shall hold office for six years or until he attains the age of sixty-two years.

-Although the Chairman and members of the SPSC are appointed by Governor but they can be removed only by the President.

-The President can remove them on the same ground and in the same manner as he can remove the chairman or a member of UPSC.

-In the meantime the Governor may suspend him from the office of Chairman or any other member of the Commission in respect of whom a reference has been made to the Supreme Court of India.

-The Chairman and members of the State Public Service Commission (after having completed his term in office) shall be ineligible for further employment in any government service.
