National Development Council
National Development Council:
-The National Development Council was set up on August 6, 1952 by an executive resolution of the govt.
-It is the apex body for decision making
-It is headed by the Prime Minister of India
-All the union cabinet ministers, chief ministers, administrators of all UTs and member of Planning Commission are its member.
-The secretary of the Planning Commission act as the secretary to the NDC.
-Planning Commission provides assistance for the work of NDC.
-It is an extra-constitutional and non-statutory body.
-Its status is advisory to planning commission but not binding.
