Appointment of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC)

The Chief Central Vigilance Commissioner and the Two Vigilance Commissioners are appointed by the President after obtaining the recommendation of a Committee consisting of:

-The Prime Minister - Chairperson

-The Home Minister - Member.

-The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha - Member

They hold the office for a term of "Four Years" or until they attain the age of 65 years which ever is earlier.

After their tenure they are not eligible for further employment under Government of India.
