Chalukya dynasty:
They ruled as three related yet individual dynasties, these are:-
--Chalukyas of Badami
--Chalukyas of Kalyani
--Chalukyas of Vengi
-Founder of Chalukya Dynasty : Pulakesin I in 535 A.D.
-His Capital : Vatapipura (Presently known as Badami) and it was succeeded by Kirtivarman & Mangalesa.
-Pulakesin II (610-642) :
-Aihole inscription written by Ravikirti in a Jaina temple gives account of Pulakesin II reign.
-His greatest achievement was the victory over Harshavardhana.
-Vikramaditya I, son of Pulakesin II defeated three successive Pallava kings & captured kanchi.
-Vikramaditya I also defeated Cheras, Cholas and Pandyas
-Kirtivarman II (744-755) was the last ruler of the dynasty.
