Aranyakas:
-It is also called 'Forest Books' because they were written mainly for the students & hermits living in the jungles.
-They deal with mysticism symbolism of sacrifice & priestly philosophy.
-Emphasize on meditation & not on sacrifice.
-Transitional works from Brahmana philosophy to Upanishadic Philosophy as they stress on a bridge between 'Karma Marga' (Brahrnanas) & 'Gyana Marga' (Upanishads)
-They are found as the concluding portions of the Brahmanas.
