Urban Unemployment and Poverty Eradication Programme
- The unemployment existing in the Urban areas is divided into two categories -
1. Unemployment among the Industriallabour
2. Unemployment among the Educated Class.
- Along with the urbanisation, the people of the rural areas have a tendency to migrate towards the urban areas. When there is no agricultural work in the villages, the agricultural labour generally move in large number to the cities in search of job.
- The number of industrial units are not increasing in the proportion to absorb the increased labour force.
- The second type of urban unemployment is visible in the form of educated unemployment.
- Along with the spread of education, the number of educated unemployed is rapidly increasing.
